WASHINGTON, DC—Ann C. Tynan, M.P.H., previously a senior health policy analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), has joined the Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) as a health researcher.

Tynan received her master's degree in public health from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, and her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining the GAO in 2002, Tynan was a legislative assistant at the American Academy of Pediatrics.

"Ann's background in policy-relevant qualitative and quantitative research will be a valuable asset to HSC," said Debra Draper, Ph.D., senior researcher and director of HSC site visits. HSC is a nonpartisan policy research organization funded principally by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Tynan's research has focused on the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), geographic variation in health care expenditures, public health preparedness, physician workforce issues, Medicare payment, Medicaid and other health policy issues.
